So I can't know exactly whatyou're going through with language, but I have an inkling from my time in Poland. It's strange how, at least to me, certain things make more sense in english, and others work better in Polish. I still prefer the Polish bez sensu to the English nonsense--this was a phrase my students used a lot, sometimes for my lessons--and it somehow has more impact or speaks more directly to the experience of confusion for me. As far for missing America, I think you have to be gone a long time before that can happen. Or that may just be my own baggage showing.
